The Beginnings:
Planting Magic Beans grew out of Co-Founder Angela Bayer’s dissertation work and related activities with adolescents in San Juan de Miraflores.  During these activities, Angela had the chance to talk with and get to know the youth in great depth. A common thread ran through all of these conversations: the lack of opportunities to live a better life. Adolescents cited first and foremost a need for educational opportunities and second, a need for personal development activities. Planting Magic Beans strives to respond to these needs.
